What Strain Is Black Mamba? Aroma, Effects and Indica or Sativa

What strain is Black Mamba?

Black Mamba is an indica-dominant hybrid known for a grape and dark berry nose, a dense purple-tinged bud and a heavy, body-led character. Our product listing classifies the cut as a 75/25 indica-dominant hybrid and names its lineage as Blue Bubblejuice crossed with Black Domina. It sits in our Indoor tier, and the batch we are stocking now, Black Mamba (Indoor) THCA Flower, tested at 31.75% THCA. Black Mamba is sourced from a cultivation partner using controlled indoor cultivation. Black Tie does not cultivate flower itself.

That is the short answer. The longer one is more interesting, because the name Black Mamba is attached to more than one set of genetics, and the aroma is doing something unusual for a flower this potent.

Where the name comes from, and why the lineage is not settled

Two accounts circulate for Black Mamba, and they do not agree.

Our product listing names the cross as Blue Bubblejuice x Black Domina, with roots running back to Blueberry and Northern Lights. Several published strain databases, including Strainpedia, instead record Black Mamba as Black Domina x Granddaddy Purple, and name no breeder at all. A third thing called Black Mamba #6 turns up in grower logs and appears to be a separate selection again.

If the Blueberry side is the part that interests you, Blueberry Sugar is the cut on our shelf where that lineage is documented rather than disputed.

What both documented accounts share is Black Domina, and that one is well evidenced. Black Domina is a Sensi Seeds release built from Afghani, Ortega, Hash Plant and Northern Lights, which is where the Northern Lights root in our own listing comes from. Black Domina is therefore the strongest documented genetic anchor across the competing lineage accounts. Beyond that shared parentage, assigning Black Mamba’s individual colors, aromas, resin characteristics or structural traits to a specific parent would go beyond what the available lineage records can establish.

We have not found a breeder who claims the Black Mamba name directly, so we are not going to pretend one exists. Where a strain name is in wide circulation without a single documented origin, the honest position is to say so and tell you which account we are working from. Ours is the listing: Blue Bubblejuice x Black Domina.

Grape and berry: the aroma

This is the part that separates Black Mamba from the rest of the Indoor shelf.

Our listing describes the jar as opening on ripe grapes, crushed berries and aged earth, with a musk and herbal spice sitting underneath the fruit. Break the flower apart and a skunky funk comes forward that was not obvious at first. The comparison the listing reaches for is vintage red wine and forest floor, which is a fair way to describe a fruit note with something older and heavier behind it.

Grape-forward is a small club on our shelf, and Purple Punch is the other one worth smelling against it.

On the palate the listing reports dark berry syrup first, then earthy cocoa and a floral edge, with a faintly spicy exhale that reads as herbal tea and burnt sugar. There is a grape-peel bitterness on the finish that keeps the sweetness from turning cloying.

Worth being clear about one thing: the report behind this batch is a cannabinoid potency analysis, so we have no measured terpene percentages to put against those aroma notes. The sensory description above comes from our listing rather than from a laboratory panel, and we have flagged which is which deliberately.

Is Black Mamba indica or sativa?

Our listing classifies Black Mamba as an indica-dominant hybrid at roughly 75/25, and names evening or nighttime as the preferred time of use.

That classification comes from the product listing rather than from the certificate of analysis. A COA measures what is in the flower by mass; it does not report whether a cultivar leans indica or sativa, and no laboratory test assigns that split. Ratios like 75/25 are best read as how a cut is commonly described rather than as a measurement, and we set out how indica, sativa and hybrid labels actually work separately.

If the indica end is what you shop, the rest of our indica THCA flower sits alongside this one.

The COA, in plain terms

Every batch we stock carries a third-party report, and the one behind this Black Mamba batch was issued by FESA Labs on 10 September 2026 from a sample tested on 9 September 2026. The Certificate of Analysis is linked on the product page before you buy.

Measured on this batch Result
THCA 31.748%
Delta-9 THC 0.079%
Total THC 27.922%
Total Cannabinoids 32.255%
CBGA 0.428%
Total CBD Not detected

A few notes on reading that.

Product details (from our product listing, not the COA): Indoor tier · indica-dominant hybrid at roughly 75/25 · medium to dense · evening or nighttime · harvested May 2026.

THCA and Total THC are different figures and both are correct. THCA is what the laboratory measured in the raw flower. Total THC is the report’s calculated potential THC after decarboxylation. The conversion factor of 0.877 reflects the mass the molecule loses when heat removes its carboxyl group, and the formula is printed on the report itself.

What this report does not cover is as important as what it does. It is a cannabinoid potency analysis, so there are no terpene, pesticide, heavy metal or microbial results on it. Our Exotic material is accompanied by Full Panel COAs; Indoor material is not always Full Panel tested, and this batch is one of those. If a full safety panel matters to your decision, our lab results page lists what is published across the catalogue, and we walk through how to read either document in how to read a THC or THCA lab test.

How the batch is described

A number above 31% sets an expectation of something sharp. Black Tie’s current batch is described as the opposite of that, a slow and mellow body experience rather than a racing one. Our listing frames it as winding down in the evening, and names a soothing calm that stops short of sedation.

Individual experiences vary, and a percentage on a certificate does not predict how any one person will find a flower. Tolerance, format and how much you use all move the outcome more than the headline figure does.

Black Tie’s product listing characterizes this batch as body-oriented and slow-building, with evening or nighttime listed as the preferred time of use. Those descriptions reflect how the cultivar and current batch are characterized rather than anything measured by the potency certificate.

On appearance, the listing describes dark olive buds streaked with purple, amber-orange pistils, and a sticky, trichome-heavy surface that grinds consistently. Density is called medium to dense. Blue Meteorite is the closest thing to it on the shelf for color.

Black Mamba FAQs

Is Black Mamba a strong strain?

By the numbers on this batch, yes. 31.748% THCA is at the upper end of what we stock, and Total THC calculates to 27.922%. Whether that translates to a strong experience for you depends on tolerance and format rather than on the percentage alone.

What does Black Mamba weed taste like?

Our listing reports dark berry syrup and earthy cocoa on the inhale, with a floral note underneath and a lightly spicy exhale that reads as herbal tea and burnt sugar. A grape-peel bitterness closes it out.

Is Black Mamba indica or sativa?

Our listing classifies it as an indica-dominant hybrid at roughly 75/25. That is a classification from the listing, not a laboratory measurement.

What are Black Mamba’s parents?

Our listing names Blue Bubblejuice x Black Domina. Published databases more often record Black Domina x Granddaddy Purple. Both accounts include Black Domina, which is a documented Sensi Seeds line, and no breeder claims the Black Mamba name directly.

Does this batch have a full panel lab report?

No. The report behind this batch covers the cannabinoid profile. Our Exotic material carries Full Panel COAs; Indoor material is not always Full Panel tested.

How is Black Mamba different from other dark fruit strains?

Most grape-forward cuts lean sweet the whole way through. This one puts an aged, earthy weight underneath the fruit, which is where the wine and forest floor comparison in our listing comes from.
